I’ve never been into magic shows. Not when I was a kid, not now. Something about grown men pulling flowers out of hats or guessing your card always felt kind of… cringe. But my best friend dragged me to one at this smaller casino just off the Strip — some random comp tickets she scored because she flirted with a pit boss earlier in the day. I went purely for the cheap drinks and the promise of getting drunk enough to heckle the guy from the back row.
But when the lights came up — holy hell. The magician was hot. Like, actually hot. Not just “Vegas-hot-because-I’m-tipsy” — I mean tall, lean, black button-down barely clinging to his chest, sleeves rolled up just enough to show a forearm tattoo, scruffy beard, dark messy hair, bedroom eyes, and this cocky smirk like he knew he was hotter than anyone else in the room.
Suddenly, I was paying attention.
